Andrejs Pumpurs
Andrejs Pumpurs was a Latvian poet and writer born on 22nd September 1841. He is best known for his epic poem 'Lāčplēsis,' which has become a cornerstone of Latvian literature. Throughout his life, Pumpurs was deeply involved in the national awakening and used his literature to inspire a sense of Latvian identity. His works often explored themes of heroism and patriotism. He passed away on 6th July 1902, but his legacy continues to be celebrated in Latvia.
